Inspiration

"Love Song (for Molly)" was written to propose to my wife in 1997.   Originally the words at the end of the first verse were "only say you'll marry me." 

I wrote it on a Tuesday morning, asked her to lunch, and sang it to her in the car with a simple arrangement accompanying me in the car stereo. She didn't even let me finish the song before she was crying and nodding her head.  I took that for a "yes." 

Some have said I've raised the bar for other men with this style of proposal.  Come on, guys, try a little romance.
