LyricsThere's no room, no room in the inn. Well, there's no room, no room in the inn. Don't care who you are, or what shape you're in. I got people in my kitchen, people on my couch, Can't walk 'cross the floor without someone sayin' "ouch!" Well, there's no room, no room in the inn. There's no food, no food in the house. Well, there's no food, no food in the house. Not a thing to give for your hungry mouth. Well, they emptied out my fridge, my cupboards, they're all bare, They were lookin' at my dog, had to hide him somewhere. Well, there's no food, no food in the house. Well, I'm as sensitive as the next, but this tax season has got me vexed. There haven't been so many darn people around since way back when King David was in town. Now hospitality's his gen'ral rule. Ordinarily, I'd be the first to welcome you. I'd like to help you but its just no use. Believe me when I say to you There's no room, no room in the Inn. Don't care who you are, or what shape you're in (X3). |
InspirationAlternately titled "The Innkeeper's Blues," this song is part of Michael's yet incomplete musical comedy "The X-Mas Files," in which the three kings are aliens from outer space. They approach the inn because they've noticed the star directly overhead, only to be turned away by the innkeeper before they even have a chance to tell him why they have come.
